Sul sito dell'attuale mulino nella frazione di Yzevoorde sul Varsseveldseweg c'era un piccolo navigatore in pietra, costruito nel 1856 da B. Vels. Poiché il mulino era in cattive condizioni, fu demolito nel 1920. Il "Buursinkmolen" in piedi a Zelhem fu acquistato e trasferito a Doetinchem, dove fu posto su un piedistallo di pietra.
Il mulino fu acquistato dal comune di Doetinchem alla fine degli anni '70, dopodiché iniziò il restauro.
