I reperti più antichi risalgono all'XI secolo. C'era ancora un mastio nel XVI secolo, che sorgeva sulla collina centrale della torre, di circa 10 x 20 metri. I Conti di Hohenlohe vivevano qui durante la carreggiata del cervo.
