    Il castello è nascosto nel fogliame dietro il Rupeldijk. In passato questo edificio era un lussuoso padiglione di caccia. La torre che puoi vedere dal Rupeldijk fu costruita in stile neoclassico (1850-1860)

    Forse avrete già notato da lontano una piccola torre, che si erge fiera sopra il verde e il Rupeldijk. La torre appartiene al Castello di Den Bocht, situato in un'ansa del fiume Rupel.

    Tuttavia, questo piccolo castello non era la prima struttura in questo sito. Una mappa del XVI secolo mostra già due fattorie con fossato: la Fattoria De Bocht e l'antica fortezza in pietra Steendere, che alcuni ritengono addirittura risalga all'epoca romana. I resti di quest'ultima sono riconoscibili come un grande specchio d'acqua appena dietro il Rupeldijk.
