    La chiesa dell'isola di Kloster è l'edificio più antico di Hiddensee. Una magnifica chiesetta che invita a “staccare dalla quotidianità” ed è dotata di alcune particolarità. Come ad esempio un 'angelo del battesimo con ciotola battesimale' che galleggia sotto il soffitto della chiesa e può essere abbassato durante i battesimi. Un angelo battesimale che porta l'acqua battesimale direttamente dal cielo.

    È interessante notare che la chiesa fu inizialmente costruita come chiesa contadina fino al 1322 come "cappella di fronte alla porta del monastero" e ora è una chiesa dei marinai in stile proprio con tutta la sua decorazione e la colorazione marittima implementata dopo il 1964 sul consulenza della TU Dresda. Tanto più che un tempo il monastero era dedicato al santo patrono dei marinai, Nicola. Il "Hiddenseer Rosenhimmel" (cielo di rose) fatto di rose selvatiche è stato creato quasi dall'oggi al domani dal pittore e bon vivant Max Nikolaus Niemeier. Per lui era stata revocata la tassa di culto.
