    Il castello barocco fu costruito alla fine del XVII secolo. e 18° secolo. (1694-1786) costruito in più fasi costruttive come residenza estiva degli abati di Langheim. Nella prima fase di costruzione l'abate di Langheim Gallus Knauer fece costruire tra il 1694 e il 1698 l'ala orientale secondo il progetto attribuito a Johann Leonard Dietzenhofer.
    Le parti dell'ala ovest e dell'ala centrale occidentale costruite successivamente furono originariamente costruite come fabbricati agricoli a quattro piani. I quattro piani raggiungevano un'altezza complessiva pari ai tre piani residenziali del primo componente.
