    Il Limes dell'Alto Germanico-Retico, nominato patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO nel 2005, scorre proprio fuori dalle porte di Walldürn. Presso il cosiddetto "Limesknick" i romani costruirono un forte (oggi riserva archeologica "Kastell Alteburg") e accanto ad esso un bagno romano nel cosiddetto tipo a schiera con riscaldamento a pavimento (ipocausto). Il Römerbad è stato esaminato archeologicamente negli anni '70 e ne sono state gettate le fondamenta. L'intero complesso è comprensibile nella sua struttura di base.
