    In realtà è abbastanza positivo che non sia venuto fuori nulla da questo progetto. Un bellissimo biotopo si è sviluppato nel tempo.

    Il nome Old Railway si riferisce a un cantiere edile della Compagnia ferroviaria di collegamento Colonia-Minden-Turingian (KMTVEG) del 1847, che rimase incompiuto come rovina di investimento dopo il loro fallimento. Il piano era di far funzionare la futura ferrovia Hamm-Warburg da Paderborn via Borchen e Lichtenau a Borlinghausen. Il fulcro dell'intera area è stata la costruzione della galleria, già iniziata e già completata per un terzo quando i lavori sono stati interrotti. La fine della costruzione è stata giustificata al pubblico con infiltrazioni d'acqua permanenti. L'edificio è stato successivamente demolito per motivi di sicurezza.
