    Gersfeld si trova nel mezzo della riserva della biosfera di Rhön ed è l'unica località termale del Rhön con un clima salubre. Gersfeld è una zona meravigliosa per l'escursionismo e anche la pista ciclabile Fulda R1 attraversa la città. Il bellissimo parco del castello merita una visita.
