    L'ascensore per navi di Niederfinow, entrato in funzione il 21 marzo 1934, è il più antico ascensore per navi in funzione in Germania. Situato a Niederfinow (distretto di Barnim), l'ascensore supera un dislivello di 36 metri tra il livello della sommità (dalla chiusa di Lehnitz all'ascensore) e il livello dell'Oder (dall'ascensore alle chiuse di Hohensaaten) del canale Havel-Oder, al chilometro 77,89.

    L'ascensore per navi è un monumento industriale protetto. Nel dicembre 2007 ha ricevuto il premio "Monumento storico dell'ingegneria civile in Germania", conferito per la prima volta dalla Camera Federale degli Ingegneri.

    Puoi prendere una barca da un noleggio di canoe a Oderberg tramite l'ascensore della nave e poi verrai ripreso circa 7 km più avanti. Eccitante! E non difficile! Basta non capovolgere se possibile. Attenzione: le canoe si ribaltano facilmente! Funziona anche con le barche da escursione.
