Probabilmente ci sono solo pochi rifugi nel Karwendel, forse anche nella regione alpina, che erano e sono così fortemente legati all'alpinismo in un tempo relativamente breve della loro esistenza. Che si tratti di sfondo cinematografico, luogo di gare, destinazione escursionistica, paradiso dell'arrampicata, ritiro dello sciatore, eppure il tempo si è fermato. Può essere dovuto al numero limitato di posti letto che si è potuto preservare il carattere della capanna salvo alcune "novità".
