Qui sorgeva una chiesa del primo gotico del XIII e XIV secolo, demolita nel 1904. La torre e il coro furono risparmiati. Tuttavia, la nave è stata sostituita da una nave più ampia, progettata da Mathieu Christiaens. Anche questa navata fu sostituita nel 1965 da una chiesa ad aula modernista, il cui asse era proiettato perpendicolarmente a quello dell'originaria chiesa orientata.
