    Una cappella, probabilmente costruita in legno, fu menzionata per la prima volta nel 1130 a Horchheim. La costruzione di un campanile e la trasformazione in chiesa avvennero probabilmente alla fine del XII secolo. Nel 1213 la chiesa ricevette la conferma papale da Innocenzo III dall'arcivescovo di Treviri. diritto al battesimo e alla sepoltura. La patrona di questa chiesa era la Madonna.
