    Nel centro storico di Melsungen sono stati conservati oltre 300 edifici a graticcio. Centro storico medievale particolarmente bello con storiche strade a graticcio. Un tour ricorda la prosperità economica della città nel Medioevo.

    Lo storico municipio di Melsungen fu costruito negli anni '60 del Cinquecento. Sostituì un edificio precedente che fu distrutto in un grave incendio nel 1554. Importanti lavori di ristrutturazione ebbero luogo nel XIX secolo e negli anni '20 la torretta di colmo fu finalmente spostata nella sua posizione attuale al centro del tetto e il Bartenwetzer fu usato come punto di riferimento di Melsungen.
