    Le rovine della chiesa Domherrenhagen, comunemente chiamata Chiesa del deserto, si trovano direttamente sul Meckenlenburger Kapellenweg, non lontano dal castello di Ulrichshusen.
    Le rovine della chiesa sono state messe in sicurezza strutturalmente all'inizio degli anni 2000, in modo che qui possano occasionalmente svolgersi funzioni religiose, concerti e persino matrimoni.
    Un'atmosfera fantastica e uno dei punti salienti del Sentiero delle cappelle del Meclemburgo. Non lontano da questa chiesa nel deserto c'è un'altra chiesa nel deserto a Schorssow.

    La "chiesa del deserto" è la chiesa di San Nikolai Domherrenhagen. La chiesa fu citata già nel XIII secolo e assegnata al capitolo della cattedrale di Güstrow. Nel XVII secolo la chiesa fu distrutta da un incendio durante la Guerra dei Trent'anni. Nel 1649 la chiesa, rimasta solo in rovina, prese finalmente il nome di "Wüste Kirche". La ristrutturazione delle rovine è iniziata nei primi anni 2000. Nel 2017/2018 ha ricevuto una croce, una panca e una scultura in bronzo con il nome "Io sono il pane della vita".
