Negli anni 1505-1580, le miniere Fugger si trovavano sulle pendici dello Zlote Chlum.
Dal 1853 fu costruita una capanna per turisti sotto la vetta. Nel 1899 fu eretta accanto ad essa la torre di avvistamento Freiwaldauer Warte e poco dopo il Adolf Medritzer, guardia forestale dei possedimenti vescovili a cui apparteneva questa zona.
