    Nel XVI secolo esisteva già un mulino nel sito dell'odierno castello di Dammsmühle, che fu acquisito nel 1755 dal produttore di pelli di Berlino Peter Friedrich Damm. Ha eretto l'edificio del Palazzo Dammsmühle come un palazzo a due piani.
    Dopo la fine della guerra nel 1945, il castello fu occupato dall'Armata Rossa. Nel 1959 la Stasi della Germania dell'Est rilevò la casa e la utilizzò come casino di caccia fino al 1989. Dopo la riunificazione, il castello servì per un breve periodo ad albergo.

    Ha una storia movimentata: dopo la sua costruzione nel 1768, il capo delle SS Himmler lo utilizzò e durante l'era della RDT la Stasi vi gestiva una scuola di lingue.
