    La torre non ha nulla a che fare con le fortificazioni cittadine. Fu eretto nel 1905 in occasione del centenario della morte di Friedrich von Schiller.
    Si dice che ci siano vecchie note che la torre fu originariamente costruita come attrazione per una fiera. Lo acquistò poi un cittadino di Oberursel, dopodiché trovò la sua destinazione a Oberursel.
    A causa del degrado, la torre metallica fu smantellata nel 1964, solo la bella base in pietra fu restaurata e conservata. (vedi pannelli informativi in loco)
