De Herder Windmill is a beautifully reconstructed flour mill, an iconic landmark situated in Medemblik, North Holland, Netherlands. This historic octagonal, thatched stellingmolen stands proudly at approximately 1 meter above sea level, embodying centuries of Dutch milling heritage.     Il mulino a Westerpoort a Medemblik è menzionato nelle mappe già nel 1555. Dopo quasi 400 anni di servizio, il mulino fu demolito nel 1947.


    Nel 1985 fu fondata la "Stichting de Medemblikker Meelmolen" e fu acquistato l'ottagono del frantoio De Herder di Zaanse, vecchio di 300 anni. Questo mulino rimase dal 1695 al 1903 tra Jisp e Wormer e poi più di 80 anni a Willeskop.

    Dal 1986, volontari entusiasti e costruttori di mulini professionisti hanno iniziato a smantellare il mulino a Willeskop ea ricostruirlo a Medemblik.
