    Uno dei tanti cavalli di gesso bianco del Wiltshire, l'Alton Barnes White Horse fu tagliato all'inizio del 1800 su richiesta di un allevatore locale. Ben tenuto e molto visitato, il cavallo si trova poco meno di un miglio a nord del villaggio di Alton sui Pewsey Downs. Sempre sulla collina c'è un lungo tumulo e diversi esempi di dighe incrociate, che sono terrapieni preistorici.

    Il White Horse Trail passa proprio accanto a esso mentre il Ridgeway e il Great Stones Way passano nelle vicinanze.
