This body of water in the back of Pfrimmpark is called the duck pond or simply the pond. It's a great place to sit and watch all kinds of water birds.

Pfiffligheim Pfrimm weir: This weir was used to regulate the water level in order to ensure the supply of the Mühlbach in the direction of Pfiffigheim. The weir to the Mühlbach is also still visible in the foreground. The Mühlbach itself has been filled in. Its course is recognizable as a path. A small weir that was used to irrigate the orchards can be seen on the former edge of the Mühlbach (tour no. 10b). The Pfrimm weir was restored in 1997 by the DRK vocational training center in Worms.

Part 2: But he was probably one of the first to take an involuntary bath, and so the name "ox piano" slowly came into being, probably because the whole thing somehow reminds one of the black keys of a piano. Today, the people of Worms officially call it that and people like to come here, even if no ox has ever played the piano here.

Part 1: The Pfrimm is a small river that rises in the Palatinate and flows into the Rhine near Worms. For several kilometers, it marks the southern border of Rheinhessen towards the Palatinate. On the way through Worms, the Pfrimm is lined with a park, which invites you to take long walks with its shady trees. One attraction is the "Ochsenklavier", a crossing of the Pfrimm over stone blocks. It was built when there were not yet so many bridges over the river. The citizens did not like it at first and the mayor who had it built said: "You would have to be an ox not to get across there with dry feet."

The Pfrimm rises in the northern Palatinate in the southern part of the Donnersberg district. Its source, the Pfrimm spring, is located at an altitude of around 299 m in the north of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, around 3 km southeast of the municipality of Sippersfeld in the Sippersfelder Weiher nature reserve, which extends into the Hinterwald with several ponds.
