Die bronzene Reiterstatue des Cid wurde von Juan Cristóbal angefertigt und 1955 eingeweiht.
Mit dem im Wind fliegenden Schwert und dem Umhang vermittelt das Reiterbild mit Babieca als Reittier eine Haltung des Aufbruchs ins Exil.
