Wonderful mountain water. If you like it cold, you'll have a lot of fun here. A beautiful loop, with a lovely little church after a steep climb.

Feeling a bit under the weather today, so only a short but very worthwhile trip to the St. Sebald Heiligenstein Church and Chapel. A 6km climb with a 5-15% gradient throughout 🤪 followed by a wonderful downhill ride. According to legend, St. Sebald lived in the grotto as a hermit in the 8th century.

We only set off at 10:30 today, so it was in the heat. A beautiful but very strenuous route through the mountains. A quick dip in the cold water and a (ice) coffee break. I highly recommend cycling tours from Weyer (if you're reasonably fit—with or without an e-bike).

"Only 48km, but a steep climb to the Glasnerhütte. Wonderful Mostviertel, sometimes Upper Austria, sometimes Lower Austria. Here in Upper Austrian gastronomy, great attention is paid to "local production and origin."

Thanks to the river, the steep climbs were easily managed. Maria even went swimming in the Ybbs, though not swimming as it was too shallow. A very pretty late Gothic church in St. Georgen am Reith, still beautifully decorated for Corpus Christi. The 75km are worth it.

First leg of our cycling week. With Carolin, Börni, and Barbara, we cycled from Amstetten to Waidhofen/Ybbs, stopping for ice cream there, and then continued on to Weyer. A wonderful ride, perfect weather🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️👍

Last stop for this time. A wonderful route from Obersuhl to Eisenach—no headwind. In Eisenach, we climbed up to the Wartburg Castle—bikes aren't allowed all the way up. The view from the castle is magical. The tour inside is fascinating—very worthwhile. The route from Hof to Eisenach is highly recommended

From Coburg to Alsleben, 90km. After 10km, the electronic gears on my brother's bike gave up. 30km in first gear 🥵 Then a small bike repair shop in Rodach. Thanks to a fantastic mechanic, after over an hour, we continued past the remains of the border fence to Alsleben. Beautiful half-timbered houses

First stage from Hof to Probszella. Very varied terrain. From great roads to bumpy paths through the forest. Two cyclists and no one else besides us. No coffeehouse or Kneipp spa—just landscapes with, unfortunately, some parts of the Thuringian Forest in ruins. Drought and bark beetles. Despite the icy wind, a great stage.
