A glance at the weather app this morning surprisingly showed better weather than predicted yesterday. So I spontaneously decided to go for a hike.

The two Eifel loops had been on my list for a while, and I really wanted to hike them this year while nature was still somewhat green. To be honest, I had expected a bit more from the hike. It was okay, but it lacked a few highlights in terms of scenery, trails, and beautiful views.

Today I was back in the Eifel for the first time in many years. I parked at the Danzley paid parking lot (€3 per day). It was a very beautiful tour with expansive views along wonderful narrow paths. At km 10.5, I turned back because the path was a bit too rough for me.

A great tour on mostly narrow paths. Some of the trails are overgrown with ferns, so long pants and tick repellent are recommended. I parked at the hiking parking lot near the Coenenmühle mill, where you can stop for a bite to eat at the end.

A very nice loop. I started from the huge hiking car park, which is always empty.
The asphalt section didn't bother me personally, as the surrounding nature is so diverse, you don't even notice you're walking on asphalt :-) Only the section from Bergerhof to An der Ostheide road was quite busy yesterday

I started from the Jägerhaus hiking parking lot, where there was a Christmas market stall right next to it. There were some lovely narrow paths, but also some wider forest roads. The loop was okay, but there are nicer spots around Beyenburg. Maybe I just missed the sunshine and the greenery in nature
