The Üfter Mark – I should visit it more often.
The forest area is dotted with great trails – not as well-maintained as in the Netherlands – but still quite nice for its proximity to the Ruhr area.
And for a Sunday – nothing going on!
Hardly any hikers or cyclists!
I liked it!
As I said, I should visit the Üfter Mark more often...😊

"Germany Tour"
Second day: here we go!
Unfortunately, the photos are out of order.
It was nice that from our standpoint, in the hustle and bustle of riders before the start, we could spot Georg Zimmermann (German Champion), who was waiting for the start right across from us.

The "Germany Tour" is visiting the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex!
And we were there, too!
First day: Individual time trial.
It was a great atmosphere – you get amazingly close to the riders before and after the race!
Autographs are signed.
Even the "Devil," who accompanies the Tour de France, was there!
We had a blast!

The plan was actually to go to Zollverein and then to the lake.
But things turned out differently.
A short break at the lake at the "Lügenbude" (Haus Scheppen). A short rest at the bridge in Kettwig 🍰
Then a nice loop to Essen-Mühlheim Airport.
Continuing on along the tracks until we were spat out in Borbeck

Sunday – a day of rest.
Or so we thought.
It was a good DOWNHILL until the ice cream parlor in Schmallenberg.
Yes, and we also know it's going uphill again.
But with this really good, big ice cream 😋 – well, I imagined it would be easier! 😂
We've arrived.

Today our destination was the "Golden Egg" on the Sculpture Trail in the Sauerland.
A very scenic tour. And very 🥵, especially for Georg, who is riding without motor assistance.
