The Inselbergschanze (also called Inselsbergschanze) is located at Brotterode in the western part of the Thuringian Forest opposite the eponymous Großer Inselsberg in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen. The large hill has a construction point (K point) of 105 meters and a hill size (HS) of 117 meters, the hill record is 123.5 meters. The ski jump was built from 1920 to 1924, expanded and modernized several times and has been one of the largest and now the oldest in Germany since it was founded. Continental Cup competitions have been held there regularly since 1995 (Wikipedia).

Vandring

In 2011 women jumped on Inselbergschanze for the first time. At that time there was no World Cup for women - so in 2011 the women's world elite was at the start in Brotterode. Since 2018, in addition to the men's COC, the women's COC has also been held annually on Inselbergschanze.
In 2018 the Inselbergschanze got a competitive floodlight system.

Vandring

The COC ski jumping competitions attract many spectators every year. The events are well organized by the local association and have the character of a folk festival. That's why the athletes like to come to Brotterode again and again, because here, unlike other ski jumps, a particularly large number of spectators follow the jumping and spread a good atmosphere.
