Bringing ingredients for meals on these mountain huts is incredibly expensive. On some huts this has to be done by helicopter.
On most mountain huts there is just one "Bergsteiger-Essen" offered and nothing else, no vegan or vegetarian option, because it's simply not working like a restaurant in the city with great infrastructure and a supermarket next doors.
