    The Catholic parish church of the Sacred Heart in Bottrop was built between 1927 and 1929 by the architect Josef Franke.

    In 1902, the first Sacred Heart Church in Bottrop was built in the neo-Gothic style according to plans by the architects Kersten and Wenking. Due to mining damage, the church was demolished in 1927, with the exception of the tower. The old tower was covered and covered with brick.
