The path of peace leads from the Stelvio Pass to the Carnic Alps along the former front line of the Alpine War. On this short section of the Peace Trail, you will hike on the Austrian-Italian border and enjoy wonderful views on both sides.

The Karnische Höhenweg owes its existence to the First World War, when the secret Triple Alliance between Italy, Austria and the German Reich broke up and the terrible mountain warfare on the Carnic Alps then began in 1915.
Trenches and a memorial to the deceased soldiers still remind us of this today.
