Vandring
In front of the large pylon that borders the courtyard to the southwest, two obelisks, four standing figures, and two seated figures of Pharaoh Ramses II were placed in antiquity. Today, only the two seated figures, one standing figure, and one obelisk remain.

The statues of Ramses II in the Luxor Temple are among the most impressive relics of Egyptian antiquity. Ramses the Great had the original temple (built by Amenhotep III) massively expanded, primarily through the construction of the enormous entrance pylon and the adjoining first courtyard. Originally, six colossal statues of the king stood directly in front of the large entrance tower:
Two seated statues: These flank the entrance. They are approximately 14 meters high and made of black granite. The thrones are decorated with the Sema-Taui symbol (Unification of Upper and Lower Egypt).
