The monumental complex composed of the church and former Jesuit novitiate of San Luis de los Franceses is a construction owned by the Provincial Council of Seville since the 19th century. XIX after a confiscation process.
The complex was built between 1699 and 1731, it is one of the best preserved enclaves of the full Baroque in Seville.
The architect was Leonardo de Figueroa, and the project was supervised by a chosen group of Jesuit intellectuals. It stands out for its high symbolic content and the combination of elements of the European Baroque and traditional local forms.
