The Gereonskapelle is first mentioned as a foundation of Forchheim citizen Georg Walrab in a document dated April 28, 1515. The building was profaned in 1896.

Directly adjacent to the Gereonskapelle is the former prince-bishop's office building. Originally, the object was built in 1685 for Katharina Sophie von Eyb, sister of Prince-Bishop Marquard Sebastian Schenk von Stauffenberg. From 1694 it was converted into a prince-bishop's office building and served as a town hall and official residence.
