Bhaktapur is famous for its traditional pottery industry. The potters of Bhaktapur apply primitive techniques. The craftsmen have passed this technique down from generation to generation.
The pottery square is located at Kumha Twa, south of the Durbar Square and close Taumadhi Square. Pottery Square contains authentic Newari pottery kilns, open air-drying areas, clay pottery, and shops selling the products. Two major temples, a Vishnu and the Jetha Ganesh Temple, are at the square.
