In 1901, the Hof Beautification Association had an octagonal pavilion built on a hill behind the memorial stone for its recently deceased founder and long-time chairman, Gottlob Thomas.

In honor of the park's creator and long-time chairman, the beautification association erected an octagonal pavilion topped with a tent roof on a hill in 1901 so that it could be seen from afar. Over time, however, the ever-growing trees covered the pavilion almost to the point of invisibility. This had to be remedied: With donations from the Botanical Garden and Theresienstein Hof friends' association, the area was landscaped in winter 2022 in order to restore the original idea of a hill with a pavilion and a view into the distance (compare old postcard).
