Vandring
Talavera de la Reina has several vestiges of the old walled buildings of Arab origin. The city came to have three enclosures, of which a good part of the first, the oldest and built by order of Abderramán III, and some of the second have been preserved. In addition to the walls, you can also see several watchtowers, semi-detached buildings already built in Christian times.

Talavera came to have three lines of walls, the first and the one that is best preserved, was ordered to be built by Abderraman III in the 9th century, of Arab origin although it may probably have the same layout as a previous Roman wall.
In the 13th century, the wall was reinforced with 17 watchtowers attached to the first walled enclosure. This made Talavera considered one of the safest cities, being a clear example of fortification. These towers, symbol of Talavera, are part of the city's coat of arms.
