The mausoleum was completed in the late 18th century and is located on the site where the collegiate church originally stood.
In addition to four medieval grave slabs, there is a crypt with the bones from St. Andrew's Chapel and a large monument with the names of the Wettins buried here in the monastery.

Vandring
In 1676 Elector Johann Georg II began digging for the bones of his ancestors. A baroque burial chapel was built in the choir area of the demolished collegiate church, but remained unfinished. The building was adapted in the classical style and in 1801 the monument was completed with components made of white Crottendorfer marble. The bones of the five Wettins were buried in 1804 in the crypt below the monument. The neoclassical sandstone coffins are 2.85 meters below the monument base and the inscriptions consist of gilded metal letters.
