The neoclassical Temple of Minerva rises at the southern end of the transverse axis and was built in 1769-73. It is dedicated to the goddess of peace and at the same time skilful leader of battles, the goddess of cleverness and wisdom, courage and beauty. The marble sculpture of Minerva, completed in 1716, stands between two sacrificial altars in the open temple.
