The Old Town Hall in Minden is an impressive historic building that has served as the seat of the city council since 1260. The arcade on the ground floor, dating back to the 13th century, is particularly noteworthy and survived the destruction of World War II.
The town hall stands on the market square and is an outstanding example of Gothic architecture in Westphalia. A major renovation was carried out in the 17th century, during which a prestigious Renaissance-style town hall was created.
After the war, the town hall was rebuilt, preserving the early Gothic arcade.
