    Until 1936, this mountain was called Ingalls Mountain and then renamed to avoid confusion with nearby Mount Ingalls. In 1954, a plane crash occurred on the 3,565 feet summit. The seven passengers survived the crash, but two of them later died because help did not arrive in time.
