This wayside shrine with the figure of St. Nicholas is built into a Moselle slate rock and dates back to 1869. After many changes in the past, it was restored by the Jodocus Prüm Citizens' Foundation (see: buergerstiftungbks.wordpress.com ) renovated and reconfirmed on 20.07.2014. Born in Wehlen, Dr. Eckart Prüm, a co-founder of this foundation, presented the meaning of the wayside shrine at the inauguration ceremony using the newly installed information board and had a lot to tell about the history of the Nikolaushäuschen.
