Vandring

Opposite the church is the Praia de Barreirinha beach, which is so popular with the locals. This is also the name of the bar with a large outdoor terrace: Barreirinha. Great to simply enjoy your coffee or red wine out here. In the evening sometimes with exceptionally good music events inside.

The Catholic Church "Igreja do Socorro" is located in the old town of Funchal. The path through the alley "Rue de Santa Maria" with the beautiful "Street Art" paintings is very worthwhile - a kind of picture journey in various variations. Furthermore, in front of the church is a lookout point on the south coast of Madeira.

The Parish Church of Santa Maria is located in the western port area of the city and is known as the oldest parish in Funchal.
In front of the church square there is a bilingual information board about the history of the church (in Portuguese and English).
Just a few steps away from the popular beach club Barreirinha.
