Here you can have a nice view of the Kupferbach dam. It is around 90 years old and the dam in its present form has been around since 1930. The facility is used for recreational purposes. But it's not just people who feel at home here: An ecological expert commissioned to do so stated that the dam should be preserved to protect the flora and fauna.

The Kupferbach reservoir is the largest body of water between Eupener Straße and Monschauer Straße. Like other dams in the south of Aachen, it was created as a rain retention basin. At the same time it is a recreational area.
