The Christ Church was built in 1962/63 and since then has been affectionately referred to as the "Soul Launching Ramp". This refers to the crooked roof shape with the futuristic-looking tower designed by the Frankfurt architect Klaus Heubel. The Christ Church belongs to the Evangelical parish of Dormagen:
