The building at Halenárska Street 2 was built according to plans by the Viennese architect Jakob Gartner (1861–1921). After the Second World War and the murder of most of the Jews, it fell into disrepair over the years. It was renovated in 1990, deliberately keeping visible signs of decay. A few years later a major renovation took place, deviating from this approach. Today the building houses a center for contemporary art and a JUDAICA exhibition on the women's gallery
