    Address Egonstr. 125
From 1833 to 1848, this station was used for the optical forwarding of state dispatches as one of 61 stations on the connection from Berlin to Koblenz. The transfer for the route from Berlin to Cologne took about two hours. As a rule, two dispatches were passed on every day. The next one to the northeast of this station was the one in Schlebusch, to the southwest was the station at the west work of St.Pantaleon in Cologne.

The optical telegraph on the roof of the building on the Egonstraße was originally built in 1832 and was in operation until 1848. In 1973 it was reconstructed in the current form. At the time, state decorations could be sent from Koblenz to Berlin within 2 hours. On the 550 km long route 61 stations were distributed. The station in Flittard was number 50.
The house is now privately owned and can not be visited, but there is an information board attached to the monument-protected house.
