Vandring
Palm trees used to be kept indoors over the winter. But here, we have Chinese windmill palms (Trachycarpus fortunei). They can tolerate frost down to -18°C. In Switzerland, windmill palms are even spreading wild and are on the blacklist of invasive neophytes.
The avenue leads straight to the rocks with the high-altitude plants. This is fitting, as the windmill palm itself thrives at altitudes up to 2,000 meters.
