The two-part half-timbered church with an older massive choir and a separately built bell shower is set back in the second row in the center of the village on the village green and cannot be seen at first glance from the street - due to the lack of a tower. The seemingly simple church has its roots in the 13th century. For the church bells, a separate half-timbered bell tower with 2 bells from 1620 was built next to the church.

"From the outside the church looks like a stable," says the chairman of the friends' association of the village church in Schlagenthin, and yes, you can easily overlook the church if you look for a tower. There is also the tower, but it is separate.

The brick church dates from the 13th century, in the 17th century a half-timbered part was added to the church. Schlagenthin is also on the Jakobspilgerweg through Saxony-Anhalt, the parsonage is a pilgrims' hostel and offers pilgrims the opportunity to stay overnight.
