The entire complex of the “Altenburger Actienbrauerei” was built in 1871 as the second brewery in the city of Altenburg.
Several extensions were then built.
The brewhouse was built in 1912/1913 based on a design by the Munich architect Prof. Theodor Ganzenmüller. Both the external design and the interior of the building are influenced by Art Nouveau.
