On the pedestal, you can see Jupiter's wife Juno with a scepter and branch, as well as the naked Hercules with a lion's skin and club. Above this is a base, a column with scale decoration, and a capital. At the top, the god Jupiter sits on a throne. His head and hands, with their lightning bolts and scepter, have been broken off. The eagle symbol can still be seen on Jupiter's leg.

The Jupiter column, which stands in the area of the upper main street, also reminds of the city's Roman past.

This column is a reconstruction. Parts of it came to light during excavations in the area of the old fort. The finds are verifiably from the first half of the third century AD.

The reconstruction took place in 1987. It is uncertain where the historical column was located.
Numerous Roman inscriptions have also been found in and on the fort.
