Information:
It likely dates back to the early 13th century. The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for the new church took place on May 26, 1896, and the consecration was held on September 20, 1897. Despite repeated damage, particularly from town fires, some remnants of the original structure had survived in the building that existed until 1896. One of these remnants, a portal probably created in the first quarter of the 13th century, was incorporated into the tower vestibule of the new building as an interior portal.
