The parish church Lengmoos was originally a hospice church and built in Romanesque style. On July 13, 1225 it was consecrated by Bishop Gebhard of Trent. Around 1400, a Gothic chancel was added to the church. In the nave to the left of the entrance, the remains of Gothic frescoes can be seen. In the 19th century, the church got a neo-gothic interior.

The patronage of "Maria (or in another spelling: Mariä) Himmelfahrt" of this church in Lengmoos refers to one of the many memorial or feast days in honor of the Mother of God Mary. It goes back to the feast of her bodily assumption into heaven, which the church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is customary for the population to collect bundles of herbs (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and to bless them in the festive service.

Vandring

In the Middle Ages, Lengmoos was the "last mountain pass in the Alps" that had to be overcome on the way to the south. Since the early 11th century, a chapel of St. Ulrich, a predecessor of today's parish church.
